The Mentorship and Outreach Student Team (MOST) is a selective student volunteer program
within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. As a MOST Volunteer, you'll be one of the first faces
prospective students and their families meet as they explore the University of South Carolina. You'll play
a vital role in advancing USC's college access and recruitment efforts, with a focus on supporting
students from rural communities and first-generation backgrounds. Through campus visits, admissions
events, student panels, and outreach initiatives, you'll help create meaningful first impressions that
inspire future Gamecocks while developing valuable leadership, communication, and professional skills.

Applicant Requirements:
To apply, you must:
- Be a current USC undergraduate student
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.75
- Submit the online application (required for both new and returning members)
MOST volunteers are selected through an application process and serve as trusted representatives for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.Application Deadline:
Applications for Fall 2026 are due by Sunday, September 13 at 11:59 PM.
Active Membership Recognition Expectations:
MOST Volunteers should be professional, articulate, and comfortable speaking in front of groups. Members are expected to be motivated, dependable, and knowledgeable about USC and its programs. Participation in recruitment activities may include some evenings and weekends.
To earn active membership for the academic year, accepted volunteers must complete the following each semester:
- Attend at least 3 MOST meetings
- Complete 2 outreach activities (such as notecard writing, call campaigns or enhanced campus visits)
- Volunteer for a 4-hr event shift or at least 1 major Admissions event [ex: Carolina Preview Open House (Fall), Admitted Student Days (Spring)].
Fall 2026 Meetings:
Meetings will be held bi-weekly on Thursdays from 6:00–7:00 PM starting September 3, 2026. Locations will vary. Meetings include training, outreach planning, social connections, and more.
